We were on an adventure that many fellow enthusiasts had recommended as being one of the best in the industry, so we decided that we would take our time working through each challenge we faced to enjoy the process thoroughly. We are so glad we set that intention as it indeed was an enjoyable experience, and we even finished it well before the time allotted. Our mission was to rob the mafia of a valuable item and not get caught – because no one wants to “sleep with the fishes.”

The mission involved eight to 10 different rooms, depending on what one considers a room. We got to set off a “bomb” to blow a hole in a wall, rode an elevator that left us at a different area than we entered (through the same door!), rode a metro, and did several other things one couldn’t imagine doing in a typical escape room. It was an amazing experience, and we are so glad that we were mentally present through each aspect to enjoy it fully. We weren’t rushing through trying to beat any records; we went with the flow and enjoyed the journey.

This was a great reminder of how important it is to do this in our daily lives – be fully present for each moment as it happens, enjoy the time we have with others, and focus fully on any challenges. Not once did we have our noses stuck in our smartphones!
