Empathy is a critical component of emotional intelligence and an essential foundation in building personal and professional relationships. Unfortunately, it is also a highly misunderstood skill, with most individuals mistakenly believing that they must feel what the other person is feeling to engage in empathy. In this workshop, participants have the opportunity to understand what empathy is, why it is essential, and how to utilize it to develop better relationships at work and home.

  • Define the three types of empathy.
  • Understand how to best engage in active listening to build empathy.
  • Identify appropriate verbal and non-verbal ways to employ empathy.
  • Demonstrate digital empathy in the virtual world.
